Dedicated to the exploration and use of new media, The New Media Consortium (NMC) has entered into a partnership with Enterprise Hive and is launching a new website to support its mission and goals. “The NMC Commons” is currently under development utilizing HiveSocial from Enterprise Hive. NMC will support its international community of experts in educational technology utilizing the software-as-a-service application.
From the practitioners who work with new technologies on college and university campuses every day; to the visionaries who are shaping the future of learning at think tanks, labs and research centers; to its staff and board of directors, advisory boards, and others helping the NMC conduct its cutting edge research, Enterprise Hive will enable online communities where members will gather.

Members will have the ability to create personal profiles. Members will also have the opportunity to post jobs, events and blogs. In addition to collaboration and communication, members will find a new and improved platform for the NMC Horizon Project wikis. With five to ten reports published each year, the new wiki is expected to provide considerable time-savings for the NMC staff.
